It’s fall and golf is in full swing again for enterprising young junior golfers. Under the new leadership of Mike Luzansky and wife, Heather, golf championships are available for youth between ages 6-18. Mike took over the position from Chris Henson who moved to Ohio last year.
Mike has always loved golf and played golf in high school. Daughter, Mila, now age 10, entered this golf tour a few years ago and father became excited to help all future golfers. The Luzansky family owns Street Legal Golf Carts, a golf cart dealership and rental company in Miramar Beach.
But, on a beautiful day, Sept. 29, at Shalimar Pointe Golf Course, only parents could ride in a golf cart to watch a group of young golfers compete for medals and points. Points become important toward qualifying for the winter championship at PGA National in West Palm Beach. The spring season is followed by the summer championship at the same location. Top scores from both seasons lead to the world championships at the Reunion Resort in Orlando in July.
Points are accumulated by participation in at least three of the six seasonal tournaments. First place is 100 points; second place is 90 points; third place is 80 points. The more tournaments you play, the more points you accumulate.
