Four days of pirate-themed entertainment, a beachfront movie, karaoke and fireworks join returning favorites, including Labor Day fireworks and the 11th annual Tricks & Treasures.

The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island is adding a new Columbus Day weekend celebration to its 2026 fall calendar, joining a lineup that includes the annual Labor Day fireworks show and the 11th annual Tricks & Treasures Halloween event.

The new celebration features four days of activities from Oct. 5 to 11, bringing together pirate-themed entertainment, a beachfront movie night, karaoke and a fireworks finale. The Boardwalk will also serve as a host location for two community events this fall: the International Coastal Cleanup Day beach cleanup and the Emerald Coast Volleyball Tournaments’ Fall Classic.

New Columbus Day weekend celebration

Oct. 5-11, 2026

The Boardwalk’s first Columbus Day weekend celebration offers activities on four days, beginning with a pirate show Monday and closing with karaoke and fireworks Sunday.

Monday, Oct. 5: Pirate show, 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 6: Movie on the Beach, 8 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 7: Karaoke, 7 to 10 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 11: Karaoke, 7 to 10 p.m.; fireworks show, 9 p.m.

All Columbus Day weekend events take place at The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island.

11th annual Tricks & Treasures

Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026

The Boardwalk’s Halloween tradition returns for its 11th year with a free, family-friendly evening of trick-or-treating, costume contests, carnival games and live entertainment.

Time: 5 to 8 p.m.

Admission: Free.

Community events at The Boardwalk

In addition to its own fall celebrations, The Boardwalk will welcome volunteers and beach volleyball competitors as a host location for two community events.

2026 International Coastal Cleanup Day Beach Cleanup

Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026

The Boardwalk is one of five locations hosting this family-friendly beach cleanup, which features cleanup contests with prizes, free event T-shirts and a complimentary breakfast after the cleanup at select locations.

Time: 8 to 10 a.m.

Locations: The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island; The Crab Trap/James Lee Park in Destin; The Surf Hut in Miramar Beach; Norriego Point Beach in Destin; and Henderson Beach State Park in Destin.

Complimentary breakfast will be available at The Boardwalk, The Crab Trap and The Surf Hut cleanup locations.

Emerald Coast Volleyball Tournaments’ Fall Classic

Oct. 14-18, 2026

The Boardwalk will also host the Emerald Coast Volleyball Tournaments’ Fall Classic, bringing competitive beach volleyball to Okaloosa Island.
