In a grueling two-day tournament at Shalimar Pointe Golf Club, TJ Vidinha won the Men’s Club Championship with a score on Saturday of 79 and on Sunday of 73. From dry to wet conditions after a torrential rain on Sunday, the greens became a challenge for all golfers.
Taylor, or TJ to all who know him at the golf course, is active duty in the United States Air Force at Eglin Air Force Base and is the Superintendent of the 58th Aircraft Maintenance Unit. With a 0.0 handicap, TJ can challenge any golfer and any golf course. His love for the game began in childhood and he played golf on his high school team in California. TJ resides in Crestview, Florida.
Golfers who participated played from a variety of tee boxes. Tee boxes are offered for all levels of play as the course motto is that “everyone is treated like a champion.” As golf is a sport for all ages, there were Super Senior, Senior and Men’s divisions as well as the Championship division.
The first and second place winners are listed below for all groups as reported by John Jenkins, Club Manager. All groups except for the Championship flight had gross and net winners. Congratulations, gentlemen!
